I am Shanti - mom, biologist, and business owner. I fell in love with this special corner of the world over 20 years ago and have lived on Vancouver Island ever since, in Victoria, Bamfield, and now Ucluelet since 2017. I am a biologist working for the Canadian Wildlife Service, and run two side businesses (Big Beach Bookkeeping and The Anchorage). Before family life, I spent over a decade studying birds in the Arctic and up and down the West Coast. I enjoy caring for and playing with my two young kids (Mallory and Mateo), walking the Wild Pacific Trail, watching the sunset, camping around Vancouver Island, tending to my garden (while chasing away deer), and doing yoga. I absolutely love living in the community of Ucluelet, and I enjoy being able to share its charm and beauty with you.
