My home is nestled among the trees on a hill overlooking a verdant , Tuscanesque landscape.
It is a rural rustic retreat in French/Moroccan style, where you can sit and relax on the shady verandah or under the trees in the Moroccan courtyard with al fresco dining, or enjoy the outdoor fire beneath the stars .
There is an ample covered deck outside the kitchen .
Play area for children with a swing and sandpit.
The garden is organic and is enjoyed by many native birds.
Cosy up by the indoor fire

The space
4 bedroom , 3 double , one single. With an extra high single airbed.
Light and airy house opening to the outdoors all around.
Its an interesting, unique home and garden with many vintage and up cycled features.
Covered verandah and moroccan courtyard with open fire for al fresco dining.
With alternative covered entertaining areas with a gorgeous view of the rolling valley below.
A play area for children with a swing and sandpit.
With a well equipped large country kitchen which opens on to a covered deck overlooking a stunning ,dreamy view.
All bedrooms , which are quite large have French doors ,all beds have good quality linen and extra blankets are supplied. All beds have electric blankets. Please ALWAYS turn them off before getting into bed , and when going out.
With a bath and shower in the bathroom.
WATER
My only source of water is from the rain - please always conserve water and take economical showers in summer when rainfall is less frequent, the bath is reserved for private use only , or bathing small children.
There is plenty of hot water supplied by a gas califont.
The shower works well , and as pressure can fluctuate , there are instructions in the bathroom for the optimum operation of the shower. Very straightforward and easy, there is ALWAYS enough hot water for everyone if the instructions for shower function are followed. :)
I just don't have enough water to waste it.
Two toilets, one upstairs and one downstairs.
My home is both rural and rustic , and as such it won't be slick and soulless like a hotel, and there may be a few critters who wander in and out, and when the season allows it is constantly being renovated , upgraded and improved for greater comfort of guests.

There a cosy open fire in the lounge for use during the colder months.
There are also heaters in the house. PLEASE DO NOT GO OUT OR TO BED AND LEAVE HEATERS OR ELECTRIC BLANKETS ON !!
There are lovely gardens to enjoy, with an outdoor bath in the pipeline, and many different outdoor spaces to enjoy.
The bedroom windows have wooden shutters which are great for controlling the light coming in.
The decor is an eclectic mix of French rustic and Moroccan with vintage touches throughout with interesting pieces of up cycled and antique furniture.
There is a very friendly small dog on the property, a Jack Russell.
He is with me in my tiny house while my house is rented.

My home is set in a peaceful rural setting, it has complete privacy and seclusion.
There are many interesting daily excursions available in the area.
I am central to the ancient Waipoua kauri forest and Kai Iwi lakes and Matakohoe kauri museum , Whangarei falls and pristine beaches. About an hour north of Whangarei are the Puketi kauri forest near Kerikeri, and the Bay of Islands.
Whangarei, which is 20 minutes away has a lovely marina and many great cafes and restaurants around it, with a loop walk that takes in the waterfront .
Bicycles and canoes can be hired near the marina.

During your stay

I will be available to assist guests in any way I can .
I stay in another house, or cabin on the property while guests are in my home, and I am an avid gardener and grow my own food, and whenever vegetables are plentiful I can provide some for guests.
Free range eggs are also supplied when they are plentiful.
Guests are welcome to share the herbs, and lemons when in season.
I often take the children who would like to , to feed my chickens, and the neighbours goats. They seem to really enjoy that.
