Living downtown is quite an experience. Dokkum is cozy, cozy and yet also again city. Dokkum is the fourth city in Friesland to be granted city rights.

Dokkum is a perfect base for a day trip to the Wadden Islands Schiermonnikoog or Ameland. A day in the city of Leeuwarden, Drachten or Groningen is also possible! Above Dokkum is a beautiful nature reserve, called Lauwersmeergebied and UNESCO World Heritage Waddenzee. Within 10 minutes, you are in the town of Moddergat, where you can see the Wadden Sea over the dike. In Lauwersoog there is a harbour with many restaurants where they sell fresh fish. The Booze Female, a pavilion on the Strandweg in Lauwersoog, is also definitely recommended! Get away from it all, enjoy and unwind in nature.

Dokkum has more than 140 monumental buildings. If you would like to take a walk in the city, you can do so in consultation. We are happy to tell you all about the city. In Dokkum it is also possible to rent a boat or a canoe in summer. Then you can sail around the city center a round trip Dokkum along the strongholds.

For lunch or dinner, there are many places that we can recommend, but our favorite places are KB Food & Drinks, Artisante and Grandcafe de Waegh. The atmosphere here is cozy, the food is good and they are all located in the city center of Dokkum.

Mijn naam is Jojanneke, 31 jaar en sinds 2014 run ik meerdere B&B’s in de binnenstad van Dokkum. Wat dit gebied zo uniek maakt? Dokkum ligt dichtbij Unesco Werelderfgoed Waddenzee, het is de meest Noordelijke Elfstedenstad, er zijn hier meer dan 150 historische panden, meer dan 30 unieke boetiek winkels, we hebben de ijsfontein, Bonifatuskapel en de Bonifatiusbron. Mijn bedrijf heet Booking Dokkum en ik beheer acht unieke plekken in de binnenstad van Dokkum. Bij aankomst krijgt u van ons de "Welkom in Dokkum" flyer. Hierop hebben we allemaal hotspots uitgelicht wat leuk is om te doen en plekken wat u zeker gezien moet hebben. Met deze flyer krijgt u korting bij unieke winkels die alleen gevestigd zijn in Dokkum, broodplankje bij de borrel, een gratis krant en de welkomstdrankjes staan voor u klaar bij Grandcafe de Waegh, KB Food & Drinks, Stadsbrouwerij Bonifatius en Grandcafe de Halve Maan.
