Our homestay is a guest facility in a quiet locality in the heart of Chennai city, India manged by Mrs. Vasantha Jairam and R. Jairam, a retired couple. The facility is on the ground floor and consists of a spacious bed room with a double bed, an additional cot, A/C, TV and fan and an attached bath room.

We, the hosts, sincerely believe in providing a clean, hygienic, healthy and bright ambience to our guests to make their stay enjoyable and purposeful.

And above all, WE CARE.

We, the hosts, are very particular that our guests have an enjoyable, comfortable and purposeful stay with us and leave very happy and contended with their stay with us. The reviews you can see below on this page, bears testimony to that.

The guest bed room is spacious with a double bed and space for an extra cot. It has A/C, fan, TV, a small library and wifi connection. The attached bath room is exclusive for the guests and has running hot and cold water the whole day. The guest facility is approachable without having to pass through any other part of the house (see Gallery).

The interior of the home is bright, tastefully decorated and well ventilated and is maintained clean and hygienic. Quite a few brass icons and some antique furniture embellish the home that we believe the guests will appreciate.

All common areas of the home like living, work studio and kitchen are freely accessible by the guests. We also provide meals (BF, lunch, dinner, coffee/tea/beverages & so on) if needed at nominal extra charge. They are all home cooked and we ensure that it is healthy and hygienic.

While we try to be unobtrusive, we are always almost all the time available to the guests for any assistance they need. For instance, if the guests are travellers, new to the city and want to explore around, we can make an itinerary for a round trip of Chennai or visits to other places nearby and make necessary transport arrangements.

To summarise, we sincerely believe that we provide a true Homestay, literally, a HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

We (I and co-host R. Jairam, my husband) are a traditional yet liberal and open minded South Indian family and believe in good human values. We have travelled a good part of the world and have especially enjoyed places that have a rich culture and history irrespective of their religious or political affiliation . We like social, cultural and sports activities and participate in them willingly. We are very interested in meeting and interacting with people and sharing with them their interests and experiences because we sincerely believe it can only enrich our own knowledge and life.

During your stay

We do not want to be the kind like a hotel or service apartment. We do not impose ourselves on our guests and try to be unobtrusive if our guests wish so. However, we are always at hand to be of any assistance to our guests to maximum extent possible by us. We would like to interact with our guests to share with them the experiences, interests, culture, traditions and so on. We can speak English and Hindi besides our mother tongue Tamil and so communication should be no problem for most Indian and international guests.
