Johnson’s , a well-established guest-house, is now in it’s 21st year. It is recognized as one of the premiere homestays/guesthouse in Kerala and a hub for guests in selecting their Alleppey backwater forays. Located in a quiet neighborhood on a straight road between town center and Alleppey beach. This room, is probably, the most popular among airbnb guests. Though, I would reckon, the 'Johnson's homestay - Romance theme room should match it. If this is booked, please go for the Romance theme

The space
Music Theme room is on the first floor of our homestay, suitable for a family of 3 or 3 single guests. The room is furnished with all basic amenities and provides one double bed and one separate single bed for guests. This room has a roofed balcony with a small sit-out area facing our beautiful garden. One of the unique, quirky features is the very comfortable hanging bamboo swing chairs.

Our guesthouse is located in a quiet neighborhood between the town center and the beach. The beach is only 10 minutes walk from the guesthouse - straight down the road.
Alleppey, or Alappuzha is famed across the world for its vast scenic undulating network of freshwater lakes, lagoons, canals, and rivers that comprise the backwaters.

While the freshwater backwaters are settled on the eastern side amongst lush velvet green paddy fields and are interspersed with small quaint villages, the Arabian sea forms another natural azure border on the western perimeter.

Thus, thousands of International and domestic tourists visit Alleppey every year.

The Mannarsala Nagaraja temple is 40 minutes drive south of Alleppey. An ages old temple dedicated to women, it is a sprawling, atmospheric place with stone carvings and figuries of sakes all over the temple courtyard.

Kutanad, a scenic village along the backwaters is known as the rice bowl of Kerala.

Coir industry, fishing- both marine and freshwater as well as traditional industries based on coir, marine products and handlooms, toddy tapping are the other idustries prevailing in Alappuzha.

Over the last 2 decades, tourism, and specifically the houseboat industry has risen to establish itself as one of the major emerging industries in Alappuzha.

Aleppey, like the rest of Kerala has only 2 seasons. The rainy season and summer. The monsoon breaks out over Kerala in the 1st week of June. June and July is peak of monsoon when it rains daily. The monsoon, extends to mid December, tapering off mid Dec. January to May are the dry summer months. It is humid during the summer.

Hi, I am Johnson Gilbert. I converted my home into one of the pioneer, premier Alleppey homestays. 'Johnson's' is listed in International guidebooks and is now well established among the top Kerala home stays.

The main reason tourists visit Alleppey/ Alappuzha is for the backwaters and for beach stays. We offer overnight or half day houseboat cruises, cheaper interactive village canoe tours, as well as Shikara by-the-hour backwater forays. Our guesthouse is close to the town beach.

Other than the backwaters, we also arrange visits to the Secret beach and the Snake temple in Alleppey.

There's an Ayurveda massage parlour a couple of minutes walk from our guesthouse. Highly recommended family run reputed place.

We have 5 rooms in total, all of which are listed on this site. 2 of these have ac facility, for which u have to pay extra.

There are quite a few guests looking for WFH facilities, for which we offer strong wifi.
