Seashell Cottage is one of two four star self-catering cottages located in the beautiful 200 year-old conservation village of Ellenabeich just half an hour south of Oban. A perfect place to stay with most of what this area has to offer on your doorstep. The Oyster Bar/Restaurant less than a minutes walk away. The Puffer Bar and Restaurant/Tea Room on Easdale Island only a short two minute ferry ride away. Sea-fari boat trips leave from the harbour, the local slate beach and hill walks all walkable from the cottage. The village is the perfect place to enjoy the sunsets in the evenings.

Ellenabeich is reached by crossing the famous 'Bridge over the Atlantic' to the Isle of Seil in Argyll, in the West Highlands of Scotland. These two beautifully appointed semi-detached properties come equipped with linen and towels and luxury toiletries for your stay and include electricity plus one bucket of coal for the fire. Rockpool and Seashell Cottages are located in a beautiful west coast fishing village in Argyll, south of Oban and offer easy access to the main tourist hotspots whilst offering a wonderful, peaceful base for your holiday. The conservation village of Ellenabeich, with its whitewashed cottages was built to house workers at the local slate quarries, but the industry collapsed in 1881 when the sea broke into the main quarry pit – the flooded pit can still be seen.
To the north the scenic landscapes of Lochaber and the Outdoor Capital of the UK including Glencoe are within easy reach. To the south the historic highlights of Kilmartin Glen and the Crinan Canal whilst inland there are the joys of Inveraray with its magnificent castle and visitor attraction Jail together with interesting shops offer a great day out. Oban is the main hub and ferry port is also the gateway to the isles of Mull, Iona, Lismore and Kerrera to mention just a few.
The local area offers many outdoor activity opportunities including wildlife spotting, boat trips, scuba diving, kayaking, horse-riding and scuba diving for the energetic!
More relaxing pursuits of exploring the rich heritage of the local area can also be enjoyed. Castles, gardens, beaches, woodlands and wonderful walks and gently hikes are within easy reach as is fishing and gold. So, plenty to enjoy and while away your days.
