Ideal for a getaway or an extended stay for up to 4 people, ‘The Nest’ offers charm, comfort, and a convenient location nestled on a hill one block off Highway 24 and two blocks from downtown Brunswick, the Pecan Capital of Missouri. Walk 5 minutes to the famed World’s Largest 20th Century Pecan, shops and restaurants, the popular Sew Sweet quilting store, and the Grand River access.

The Host lives in the dark green house next door.

The space
We renovated ‘The Nest’ completely from the studs in 2012 to feature wood floors, a custom kitchen and bathroom, and a comfy carpeted loft with two full size beds and an additional queen-size air mattress. This house reflects solid German craftsmanship of the 1930's. If there’s a storm outside, you'll barely hear it!

‘The Nest’ has been decorated with artifacts from our worldwide travel and living, including a collection of bird artwork, photography, sea glass, and textiles.

The house has WiFi and a Roku TV television in the living room.

Cook meals using the full gas stove, oven and microwave. Also available in the kitchen are a coffee maker, a Bullet blender, toaster, and Belgian waffle maker.

The pantry houses a full washer and dryer, as well as a steamer for clothes. Sit on the side deck at a bistro table or on the patio below.

‘The Nest’ is a non-smoking and non-vaping property.

This home has stairs from the street parking to the house, inside to the loft, and from the deck to the patio that could present a safety hazard for small children or people with mobility issues.

I'm a twin, and my sis, Elle, and I co-host this special cottage.

Favorite Destinations (so far!): Galicia region of Spain, Italy's Cinque Terre, Edinburgh, Guatemala, Helsinki, northern California, Boston, London, Pacific Northwest

Things I can't live without: the people I love, the place I call home, extra virgin olive oil, butter, a glass of pinot noir, my road bike and clips, my hiking shoes and poles, another trip planned...

Love the blues, classical music, bluegrass, and regional music. Dance during dinner prep in the kitchen, laugh at my quirkiness frequently!

Work hard to contribute to the revitalization of my community - the Pecan Capitol of Missouri! Will likely share treats with you when you visit..

My way of living life: Travel light, live light, spread the light, be the light.

The ONLY way I prefer to travel is AirBnB....
