Baker's Corner is a historic farm on the southeast edge of Clear Lake. The acreage sits amidst Iowa farmland but is only minutes from the tourist attractions of Clear Lake and the amenities of Mason City . This quiet, cozy, country home is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. A loaf of homemade bread and seasonal jam are provided at no additional charge if you let us know you would enjoy that little extra.

Guest have 24 hour access to the secure apartment above our garage. In the Spring, Summer and Fall, there is a small patio for your use with a charcoal grill available and table to enjoy the out-of doors, the yard and the farm. A fire pit is available for S'mores and star gazing.

Clear Lake is one of Iowa's best tourist towns. There is something to see and do almost every weekend of the year. From Buddy Holly weekend at the Historic Surf Ballroom, two State Parks, Christmas by the Lake, Wooden Boat Show, Annual Art Sail, Thursdays on Main, Classic Car Show, the 4th of July Celebration, fishing tournaments, sailing Regattas and much more. It's often a favorite (northern route) overnight stay for RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa)! You'll find a complete listing of fun opportunities at the city's website.
Attention bikers: Baker's Corner is situated along the paved Trolley Trail that runs between Clear Lake and Mason City. Heading east from the corner you can ride along the old highway and electric train track all the way to Mason City, through town on marked trails and turn around at Lime Creek Nature Center on the northeast side of town.
Heading west on the Trolley Trail takes you into downtown Clear Lake and continues in a 14 mile loop around the lake through residential areas and the Sister's Prairie paved trail on the southwest edge of Ventura - a beautiful ride.

We are retired and are enjoying our new home and carriage house, finished in 2015. We love living on the farm and know you'll enjoy the quiet country setting. The kitchen is our favorite room of the house; we're "foodies" and like to try new recipes. We've blended the new construction with our primitive antique decorating style. Our antiques come from family and many trips scouring shops for the perfect vintage piece. We hope you'll appreciate the space and treat it with care and respect.

COVID -19 UPDATE. This AirBnB space is a totally separate building from our home. You can check-in and check-out without interaction with either of us. We try to pause 8 - 24 hours between bookings and we thoroughly wipe all surfaces with disinfectant before your arrival. We want you to feel safe.

Some restaurants and attractions may be limited in service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please call ahead. Many of the summer activities in Clear Lake sadly have been cancelled so check the Clear Lake Chamber office online before planning your trip.
