Our cottage opened 1. June 2017. Placed in beautiful surroundings on the edge of Golden Circle, 10 km from village Flúðir and 35 km from Selfoss. Most of the main sites in the south near by. The cottage is based in a peaceful tree grove on a family property on the farm Skarð. Free wi-fi, a nice shower and herd of Icelandic horses on a field by the cabin. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).

The space
The cottage is brand new and built by ourselves this winter, and the outer lay, the coverings, are with wood from the Þjórsárdalur valley. It has the heating in the floor, a geothermal heating from a farm near by. The cold water is very good, as good as it gets and drinkable. It is very peaceful place with a beautiful mountain view and to the river Þjórsá, the biggest glacial river in Iceland.

Where you’ll be

Flúðir, Iceland

It is very well based near the Golden circle and the South coast, short drive from Reykjavík, 70 minutes, and Selfoss, 25 minutes. Good place to be on if you have a car and are traveling around the south of Iceland. Short distance from all the main sites. To Flúðir village is only 11 km, and there are grocery store and restaurants.
