Lake's End Lodge is an old station house on the banks of Lake Wakatipu. Surrounded in mountains and farmland, in the cute village of Kingston. We live in the main house, and this space is a separate, self-contained converted 20ft shipping container with your own ensuite, private courtyard and kitchenette.

The property is packed with character and we have loads of free facilities such as kayaks, table tennis, games room & bikes. Well trained pets are welcome, just give us a heads up.

The space
The Container Cabin is your own cosy sanctuary. En suite bathroom, small kitchenette (kettle, toaster, wok, microwave, element, bbq), private courtyard and epic views. The games room is just across the garden, you'll find the bikes next to the cabin and the kayaks down the long driveway leading to the lake. We also have golf clubs and tennis racquets you can borrow. This room can fit 3 people if required however it is better suited to 2 people, or 2 adults and a child (it will just be a bit cosy with 3!) It has a double bed and single bunk. You'll have complete privacy, but if you need anything, just ask!

Kingston is a small village at the end of Lake Wakatipu, just 30 minutes from the airport, and 40 minutes to Queenstown. A friendly community, and a relaxing place to live, and come on holiday. Lake Wakatipu is right in front of the lodge; where you can enjoy boating, water sports, fishing, kayaking, and swimming (if you dare!) There are a couple of walks in the area, as well as the Around the Mountains cycle trail which either starts or ends in Kingston. Kingston is also great for rock climbing, and there are tennis courts, golf and lawn bowls.

We're en route to Milford Sound, and can happily help you organise your trip there, or suggest other places like Queenstown, Arrowtown, or the Gibbston Valley for wine tasting.

The Remarkables Ski Field is 25 minutes drive, and we do regular trips there in the winter (which you're welcome to join us on.)

My husband John and I are 36 and 37 and live in our lodge here in Kingston. We love it! It's a friendly community, where travellers and locals can feel at home. We enjoy snowboarding in the winter, and mountain biking, hiking and wakeboarding in the summer. We also love to share our facilities and activities with our guests, friends and family! We're friendly and sociable, but also give our guests space to enjoy the place, and the outdoors, at their own pace.

We'll leave you to enjoy your stay in your own space, but we live in the main house just across the garden so are here if there is anything at all you need.
