Dar Tibibt, right in the historic centre of El Jadida, is close to everything. You will appreciate the proximity to the sea and the pretty public garden right across the street. You will also love the authentic character of this house, built in 1911, completely renovated a century later, with the central open-air patio around which all the rooms are organized.

The space
Dar Tibibt (the bird's house). Built in 1911 in the former Jewish district of Sid Daoui, this 230m2 house took the name of a small bird, the striolated sparrow commonly known in Morocco as the Tibibt, after its complete rehabilitation a century later.
The size of a sparrow, slightly redder than the latter, it has a speckled bib reminiscent of that of the thrush. A couple of these birds have taken up residence in this house. Their nest is on the inner edge of one of the windows at the top of the stairs leading to the terrace. They live here all year round. You like me, we're kind of at home. They go from room to room, go about their business, raise their broods when the time comes, without ever being frightened by the presence of humans.
And every morning in the summer, they will enchant you with their virtuoso vocalizations. Above all, don't try to feed them, let alone catch them… Just accept the fact that you're a little roommate.
As in traditional Moroccan homes, Dar Tibibt organizes around the patio. After the carved solid cedar door, you will find to your left a particularly well equipped kitchen, then a dining room, the large Moroccan living room, the TV lounge with its office area and the toilets.
