For nature-lovers; sourrounded by olive trees, oak montados, and fruit trees; variety of wild and farm animals. Perfect for hiking and biking. Small pool to refresh from the burning sun. Soothing silence, glorious starry nights. On the Spanhish border, 20kms from Serpa, near the Guadiana National Park.

The space
Our property consists of a 120sqm châlet with terrace and pool afar from any and everything, isolated in an infinite ocean of greens and golden. It is the fully renovated version of one of the many ancient peasant homes widely spread throughout the hills of Baixo Alentejo (near Serpa). It was decorated in a modest yet dignified way with as many comforts as possible and following the local aesthetic and traditions. It hosts up to 6 adults or 7 guests including 3 children (under 12yo).
The house exists within a farm fully administrated by Mr. Coirinha, an extremely affable, likeable person and a local who knows the region like no other. His house and agricultural assets are located about 500mts down the road (it cannot be seen from the main house).

Where you’ll be

Vale de Vargo, Beja, Portugal

Baixo Alentejo itself is a wonderful region full of wonderful people, a rich history offering discoveries for the most varied kinds of citizens, and a venerable nature with an infinity of sunshine and silence. There are activities for everyone, with a variety of castles and other historical legacies of various kinds as well as ldam lakes and the natural world to discover. Families (specially children) are likely to feel in heaven; rebellious teenagers maybe less so. The climate is continental and vary from 45º in summer to 15º in winter, but there is much to do and discover all year round. It is an extremely quiet place with small and sparsely spread out population (mostly senior), as the vagaries of our national and globalized world have not properly benefited the area in modern history yet. The future awaits!

During your stay

A local and very charming, warm family lives further off in the farm premises and handles everything with you at the site. Their contacts will be provided when the reservation is completed.
With this family you are welcome to interact at will. The parents (Mr. Coirinha and Mrs. Francisca) speak portuguese and French, their teenage daughter Paula speaks a bit of English. There is a variety of farm animals they take care of, from cats to peacocks--with dogs and goats in between--and which will charm the children. The mutton heards eat early in the morning and in the late afternoon; they are supervised by the farm dogs and are always an enchantment. A variety of agricultural activities (according to season) can also be shared with guests of every generation; once again the children are the most likely to love the discoveries. A range of fully organic local produce is for sell at very reasonable prices--onions, potatoes, tomatoes, olive oil, various meats. You can also pick up the lemons and figs from the trees around the house. The human spirit, the peace and quiet and the involving nature will guarantee a wonderful and extremely resting experience.
