My home is in the heart of the East Village/LES area, known for its restaurants, nightlife & vintage shopping. The apartment has a full kitchen, cable TV with HBO & Showtime, 5G WiFi, & a comfy queen bed with a 4 inch foam topper. Plus there are ultra-quiet window a/c units in each room for those very hot & humid NYC summer months. My home is 2 very short blocks(200 ft) from the F Line subway.

All races & religions are welcome and am LGBQT Friendly.

The space
This listing is my actual home and all are welcome to stay! I take pride in offering a clean comfortable place for guests when visiting NYC so it is professionally cleaned before and after each stay. I put most of my personal items away and offer my guests 1/2 of the main bedroom closet for their use and cabinet space in the kitchen.

- Television - the living-room has a full cable package of 1000 channels including HBO, & Showtime, plus over 2000 movies & TV shows on demand.
- Full Kitchen with updated appliances including a gas stove and a full selection of pots & pans plus plates, cups and silverware
- Household Basics - toilet paper, dish detergent, kitchen towels, trash bags, a roll of paper towels and cleaning supplies(just in case of an emergency).
- Control over the temperature settings for the Heater and Air Conditioner in the apartment with separate zones for the main room and the living room. A/C is available from mid June to the end of September.

Again, this is my actual home, and I have live here for over 20 years. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean and relaxed place in a great location with an accommodating host, my home fits the bill. This is not an "airbnb" only apartment.

My apartment is smallish, but typical of the East Village tenement buildings. The apartment is ideal for 2 guests sharing the queen bed, and do-able for 3-4 guests as long as you do not mind people sleeping in the living-room on a mattress or a cot.

I only rent my home to guests who have their Gov Id verified with Airbnb - It is a fast process and takes 15 minutes. You can request to book but I will ask the verification be completed before I accept.

APARTMENT DETAILS:
My apartment is a one bedroom apartment with an e-suite bathroom on the third floor of a walk -up. That means you need to be comfortable walking up two flights of stairs with your luggage.

KITCHEN: The Kitchen has a gas stove with restaurant burners. While the freezer will have some food items in it, I leave the refrigerator empty with the exception of some staple condiments which you are welcome to use. I will also leave space in the cabinet over the sink for you. You are welcome to use my spices, oils and any pasta /carb items in the cabinets you may need.

LIVING ROOM: The open kitchen/living room has a gas fireplace as well as two large windows providing tons of sunlight. Most days I never used lights until after the sunset. I have an air conditioner unit set up in the window that is one of quietest on the market. It is very strong and can cool down the apartment in about 10 minutes.

The sofa is a not a sleeper and I prefer no one sleeps on it. Instead I have a twin cot with a mattress pad if needed for one extra guests or an air-mattress if there are 2 extra guests.

BEDROOM: The bedroom is located away from the street so is normally very quiet. The door is a sliding barnyard style. The queen bed is comfortable and in excellent condition with a pillow top mattress. It has an air conditioner(extremely quiet) during the summer and a wall heating unit which you can control the temperature separate from the living room. I always leave the drawers in the dresser empty and half the main closet empty for your use. The rest of the closets are for my personal storage.

EXTRA BEDS: I have a narrow twin cot with a mattress pad & a 3 inch topper suitable for 1, which past guests have said is very comfortable if you are not over 6 ft tall. If there are two extra guests their is a queen air-mattress.

BATHROOM: My bathroom, though not new, is in good condition & very clean. My building has very hot water so I suggest running the shower for a minute before stepping in. The building is over 150 years old, so please be kind to the plumbing!

I leave a hairdryer for my guests plus shampoo, conditioner & body wash. I know most are flying to NYC and with baggage fees, luggage space is precious.

SUPPLIES: I will provide bedding and towels for my guests. I also supply a couple of rolls of toilet paper, dish detergent, kitchen towels, trash bags and a roll of paper towels. Additional cleaning items will be under the kitchen sink, if needed. There is an iron in the bedroom dresser cabinet.

BUILDING/EAST VILLAGE: While 98% of the time my building is quiet, there is more activity on the weekend with other tenants hosting guests before going out for the evening. It usually does not last more than an hour or so, as people meet-up and then go out to clubs. This is the east village and the nightlife is what attracts most people to the area. If there is ever an issue, you can text me and I will contact them directly.

THE NEIGHBORS
An eclectic mix of NYC newcomers and long-time residents, this is an racially and economically mixed area. The african-american wall street guy shares his morning coffee with a puertorican feminist pop artist at the hip coffee house that is owned by a jewish lesbian couple, while the middle-age irish lady watches.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A lively neighborhood with an adventurous spirit that defines downtown living. Bargain shopping is still possible here with our many vintage and consignment stores. There is also a plethora of innovative designers with shops in the area. Young chefs are providing innovative foodie experiences and the cocktail is an art form next to traditional old school ethnic food and dive bars with attitude. Small quiet community parks still abound.

THE LIFESTYLE
Quiet during the day and busy at night due to the popular culinary and bar scene. Want to people watch, just pick your cafe or coffee spot.

WHAT NOT TO EXPECT
A quiet, residential area free of street traffic or noise from nightlife outside their doorstep. No big box stores or chain restaurants. Instead this is a small business shopping haven unlike most of Manhattan neighborhoods which can be filled with Gaps and Old Navy.

My style of hosting is to treat guests as if a second cousin was coming to stay. Friendly but with a lot of space for you to do your own thing. I am currently not working so I am home a lot but I do my best not to infringe on your privacy.

While I am open to all nationalities, races and religions as well as LGBTQ friendly, I am only fluent in English. Sorry the best I can do in other languages is ask "Where is the Bathroom?" in Spanish, Italian, French and Chinese. From that information you can guess where I have traveled in the past!

During your stay

As I will be renting out my actual home, our interaction will be limited as I will probably be away. I do my best to meet and greet each guest when possible. If our schedules do not allow for us to meet, I have a lockbox for the keys and will send you via email an apartment manual. I am always available by phone or text and will check in often to make sure everything is going as planned.
