Beach across the road for swimming or walks in either direction (tide permitting). A boat ride across the harbour for sand-boarding. One hour drive to Kaiwi Lakes. Hot pools at Ngawha springs one hour's drive away..great in winter.

The space
The Main area is bed-sit style with two beds and kitchenette and is suitable for short stays. When weather is good doors can open wide and double the living space... with a barbeque, tables and chairs. There is a large shady Pohutukawa tree for shade when it is really hot. Guest bathroom has a shower, handbasin and washing machine and a toilet in a separate room.
Our philosophy is " Wabi Sabi "....valuing the old ....and celebrating the marks of passing time....avoiding (where possible) the sleek,mass produced...technology-saturated.

During your stay

Mostly I am around and love to converse with guests...but also fully respect privacy if that is what guests want.
Occasionally I am unable to be here at all due to family or other commitments (sometimes without warning) and guests must be able to get by for themselves and not always expect service.....this is rare however.
