The Indus River Camp is a 42 acre natural sanctuary on the banks of the Indus river. We are just 9km from both the city and airport yet the only buildings in sight are the monasteries that cling to the Himalayan range that forms the 360° panorama.

We have 5 Riverside Tents and 3 Riverside Cottages with luxury queen size beds, hot water showers, a dining hall kept inviting by a Leith educated chef and the best land in Leh.

The space
At The Indus River Camp we have 42 acres of extreme natural beauty that extends out from the Indus river that gave its name to the country. The campsite sits in a basin surrounded by a panoramic view of the Himalayan range. Stok Kongri, 6,200 metres above sea level, towers over the camp.

Thanks to understreams that run along the river Indus our land is uniquely green in the desert mountain region of Ladakh with tall grass, trees and Sea buckthorn berries spread out across the land.

This lush natural environment is a pleasant contrast to the noise and dust of the nearby city. Relax and acclimatise at campsite whilst exploring Leh and the surrounding areas.
For bikers or anyone travelling along the Manali to Leh road we are conveniently located just before the entrance to the city. Turn left on the Choglamsar bridge and follow the signs to the left.

The Indus River Camp is in the Chuchot Village, at bank of the majestic Indus River. The area is quiet and peaceful and is surrounded on all sides by the Himalayan range. The starting point for Stok Kongri (6,200m high) trek is just 2 kilometres away. The only buildings in sight are the monasteries perched on the surrounding mountains.
