Driftwood Treehouse is a birders/surfers/artists paradise overlooking Kwelera Nature Reserve, a short walk to the sea. Be refreshed in nature after a days work. Work/travel compliant.

The bedroom is upstairs reached via broad outside steps as shown in the photos, onto a deck surrounded by foliage. In the bedroom is a queen-sized bed, plus a single on request. The toilet is en-suite and there is a bath. Downstairs is the kitchen, rustic covered braai area and a beach shower.

The space
The Treehouse was created with quality finishes and meticulous attention to detail by cabinet maker/boatbuilder/sculptor George Kockott. Enjoy a soak in a cast iron bath tucked under the eaves in your bedroom and watch the curious antics of the monkeys outside. Hang your towel on the giant kudu horns above. Or shower in a private bower of wild ginger outside.

The kitchen/diner is colourfully decorated with an under counter fridge, electric oven and two plate stove. There’s a sheltered barbecue area by the kitchen or cook under the stars in the garden. No TV to spoil the atmosphere but there is WiFi, and of course hot water and electricity!

I run an artists residency programme here at Driftwood Studios where artists can be inspired by our beautiful natural environment make use of our gallery, pottery, wood and metalwork facilities. Of course anyone is welcome at other times, for couple time, Mums time out and family holidays by the sea. I am a widow with two children, a Brit who fell in love with Africa 22yrs ago.

During your stay

We do enjoy socializing with guests and can advise you on what to see and do in the area. We can arrange services such as a private yoga class or pampering massage in your cottage or in the garden. We offer a nature tour to the beach and discover the bird and sea life in this private enclave. Or a guided Canoe Safari up the Kwelera River.

Our teen son and 10yr old daughter love to have other children to show round.
