Explore Turda Salt Mine, Transylvania
Turda Salt Mine it’s probably one of the most important and interesting places to see in Transylvania and one of the most visited sights in Romania, located within 120 meters depth below the sea. Turda Salt Mine was placed by Business Insider at the top of their list of the ten “coolest underground places in the world”. This experience will start in Cluj-Napoca with a 30 minutes public bus ride to Turda, near the Salt Mine. After a short walk the magic will happen, when we enter in the underground. The Salt Mine is a genuine history museum of Salt exploitation where history and futuristic elements meet, all in a very healthy micro-climate. In addition, the Salt Mine gives the opportunity to present you the only underground Ferris wheel in Europe and we will have the advantage of the healthy salt therapy. The excellent condition of the mining compartments and the equipment used for salt transportation have turned it into a place of mingled history and legend. We will also visit together the city center of Turda before we travel back to Cluj-Napoca. Other things to note This is a medium difficulty walking tour designed for all ages, including children. We will take a bus from meeting point until the experience point. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. Free tour with a licensed & funny guide
We'll have a walk thru the old citadel of Timisoara where we'll discover the Ottoman influences, see what Habsburgic Empire brought to the table & how the city developed in the last 100 years under the Romanian rulership. At the end we will find ourselves at the starting point of the Romanian Revolution from 1989 & discuss the current events.
Hiking with a white husky to the Brasov sign
Our hike will last about 2.5-3 hours and the difficulty is medium. We'll start our adventure from the base of the mountain. First I will jump and wiggle my tail around you for about 5 minutes after that I'll start exploring the forest. Meanwhile Sorin will guide you and tell you interesting things about this amazing place. We will reach the Gaboni steps where I will run tireless by your side trying to catch every leaf that moves. After we finish climbing the steps(about 1 hour) we'll reach a clearing that's perfect for a longer break and a photo session. After that, the trail will take us to the giant letters "BRASOV" that can be seen from downtown. There we'll enjoy amazing landscapes with the old town and beautiful mountains on the background! We will return on the classic trail back home satisfied and full with positive energy. Other things to note: The address for the meeting point is Pictor Pop 2. If you use the map feature directly from Airbnb, the directions may be incorrect. If you are on a tight budget message me and we will find a solution. Dante doesn't like children so it's not a good fit for them. The experience may be postponed or canceled (full refund back) if there are bad weather conditions. The terrain is rocky, steep stairs and climbs and potentially slippery conditions depending on weather. I recommend you to bring long pants.
Experience the Communist Dictatorship
In this 3-hour journey, you will learn about the major landmarks and events in the Communist history of Bucharest, the violent beginnings of the Communist regime, the nationalization and forced demolition of thousands of houses, the People's House (currently, the Palace of the Parliament), dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his megalomania, and the bloody anti-Communist revolution of 1989. The experience tells the story of the conflict between two worlds -- a brutalized Bucharest under the Communist regime, and the peaceful and prosperous Bucharest of the interwar period. You will learn about why Bucharest is such a striking mix of very different architectural styles, how each regime has left its mark on the city, how the city looked, and what its inhabitants went through in their daily lives under Communism. You will re-live the emotions of the anti-Communist Revolution and the fall of the Iron Curtain. We'll explore: > Historic Cosbuc and Uranus neighborhoods > Antim Monastery, the Nuns' Convent > The Palace of the Parliament > The former Boulevard of the Victory of Socialism > Former headquarters of Securitate > Revolution Square. Great for groups, as well as for individual travelers.

A day out skiing on the slopes in the woods in Predeal
I'm taking out for a day to ski in the mountains! We leave Bucharest at 7:45 and about 2 hours later we'll be already on the ski slope in our lovely resort, Predeal! As soon as we arrive in Predeal we go to the slope and get you some skis, boots and the rest of the equipment. We go get our ski passes and we start our mountain adventure. To start with, for the first hour on the slope we do some exercises to improve technique and have some fun (level 3 or 4 skiers will get challenges). After that we let slips of paper with the names of the slopes decide which slope we explore next. We have a beautiful mountain (1495m on top) and no less than 6 slopes and 8 ways to go down the mountain ranging from blue slopes to black ones and we can use a ski lift and a chair lift to go back up. I'll take you on the less known and fun slopes in the woods too ;) I'll be immortalizing our fun and I'll send it to you to have a memory from lovely Clabucet. There's also one glass of Mulled Wine/ Tea on me when you feel the need for something hot. A little before 15:00 we'll do our final descent, take the ski equipment back and head to the train station. We'll get on the train and come back to Bucharest and arrive at 17:21.
Bucharest Pub Crawl in the Old Town area
A great way of diving into the local nightlife of Bucharest is by joining the most popular Pub Crawl in the Old Town area. We'll visit four unique venues each Saturday, in the Old Town area, with a crescendo-planned tour. A local experience that promises to be both fun and insightful, off the beaten touristic path. Starting in a social bar or pub where the guests can meet each other, continuing to a fancy social venue, moving to a buzzing party venue and ending in a big club, the group will have a broad view of the local nightlife by the end of the night. During the tour, we may experience karaoke singing, live bands, social games, special DJ sets and even special events for holidays. Each pub crawl promises tasty shots included in the package, booked tables, interactive guiding, photos and hints for enjoying Bucharest to its most. A must-try activity for solo travelers, couples and small group of friends. Surprises may be provided for birthdays or pre-wedding celebrations.
