    • For example, short, pre-written messages are great shortcuts to connecting with new Hosts

Just like Superhost Ambassadors help lead new Hosts through the exciting first steps of hosting, Superhost Ambassadors can help each other navigate the world of mentorship and share their best tips for guiding new Hosts. We spoke with Noelle, a Superhost Ambassador in San Francisco, about what works best for her. Here are her suggestions for being a great mentor.

    Creating an introductory statement

When new Hosts connect with you, they’ll be able to read a short statement that you can personalize. For example, Noelle writes:

“Hosting on Airbnb brings me such joy and freedom, and I can’t wait to help you get started.”

Introducing yourself when you get a notification

It can save time to have a friendly introduction ready to go that you can send to all new Hosts when you first connect. Noelle sends this message when she matches with a new Host:

“Welcome! I’ve been a Superhost for over 10 years and am here to mentor you as you get started hosting on Airbnb. What questions do you have for me?”

    Giving supporting details

Noelle suggests sharing a Resource Center article or offering local guidance with a Responsible Hosting article to answer some questions from new Hosts. There’s lots of great information in both places, and many common questions can be easily answered by simply copying and pasting a link.

    Offering to connect virtually

Sometimes an article isn’t enough—which is where you can step in. In that instance, Noelle suggests keeping your message short, sweet, and direct, like:

“Happy to help explain in more detail. Do you want to call me?”

    Connecting with new Hosts quickly

Noelle reminds us how important it is to follow up with Hosts proactively. New Hosts appreciate quick answers and feel more confident listing their space if they can get speedy assistance from a trusted ally.

    Sharing your hosting experience

What stands out to you as most important to being a good Host? What do you wish you’d known when you started? Noelle recommends being authentic and sharing your insights. New Hosts want to hear about your hosting experience—especially the details that are most relevant to their own situations.

Offering to help edit a new Host’s listing

When you’re just starting out, it’s common to have questions about how to create a great listing on Airbnb. You can help by requesting edit access to a new Host’s listing. You can’t publish other Hosts’ listings, but when you’re done with your edits, you can send the listing to a new Host so they can complete a final review and publish it.

Noelle says she might write a message like this to offer assistance:

“Do you want to grant me edit access to your listing, and I can help update it based on our conversation?”

    Providing local hosting resources

Once a Host completes their first booking, you can suggest that they get involved with their local Airbnb Host community. Noelle recommends sending a message like this:

“Congratulations on hosting your first guest! Join a local Host Club and get connected to other Hosts in your area.”

These are just a few suggestions from a seasoned Superhost Ambassador, but the way you mentor new Hosts is up to you. As Noelle puts it, “Hosting guests has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I look forward to helping more Hosts join Airbnb.” We hope you have a similar experience. Welcome aboard!
