Your title is an opportunity to draw attention to what’s truly great about your space. The fun part is figuring out how to do this in a few choice words.

Because 75% of searches on Airbnb happen on mobile devices, titles are limited to 32 characters total, including spaces. This prevents them from getting cut off on smartphones and tablets with smaller screens.

Here’s how to write a compelling title:

  • Add details without repeating info. You don’t need to tell guests what’s already shown in search results, like your city or town and total number of beds. Instead, highlight things about your space that can help attract guests’ attention, like a top amenity or proximity to a point of interest.
  • Avoid emojis and symbols. Stick with simple and descriptive words (like cozy, charming, rustic, or spacious). Using special characters is fine, but don’t repeat them for emphasis (like !!! or ***).
  • Use sentence-style, which is often easiest to read. Sentence case calls for capitalizing only the first letter of the first word in your title. Avoid using uppercase letters in other words, unless it’s a proper name like Yellowstone.

If you’re struggling to keep it short, try this exercise:

  • Think about what makes your space appealing and unique.
  • Jot down a few words that describe it as specifically as possible.
  • Don’t try to tell the whole story—simply invite guests to learn more.

Here are three examples of effective titles for inspiration:

  • Seaside retreat with kayaks
  • Romantic Victorian guest room
  • Eco-friendly studio near LAX

Not sure you’ve nailed it? You can change your title anytime. In fact, many Hosts update their titles when they add amenities or learn what their first few guests like best.
