Highlights

  • Listings with video tend to get more bookings than those with only photos

  • You can film and submit clips of your Experience using a smartphone

  • At no cost, editors will create a video trailer for you

By following this simple guide, you can help create a unique and compelling video trailer for your in-person Experience page. This service is available for free to all Hosts with an in-person Experience.

The process is easy. All you need to do is send us a few clips highlighting the most memorable moments of your Experience. Then a team of professional editors will edit the footage into a video trailer and add it to your page.

The finished video will appear on your Experience page, next to your photos.

How to film your clips

Record a variety of videos that capture different elements of your Experience. Each clip should ideally be 10 to 15 seconds. All clips must be filmed in portrait mode, which means you should always put your phone in a vertical position when recording.

To get you started, here are some ideas for what to film:

  • Details of what makes your Experience stand out

  • Location or atmosphere of the Experience

  • Close-ups of the supplies and items used in the Experience

  • Interactions between you and your guests

  • The final product or conclusion of the Experience

Make sure to capture different aspects of your Experience from a variety of angles and distances (such as at eye level, from above, from far away, and up close).

Shoot your video vertically and focus on compelling aspects of your Experience.

Tips for recording high-quality video

  • Use a smartphone, such as an iPhone or Android. Newer models have great video quality.
  • Plan what you want to film during a test run of your Experience for friends or family.

  • Keep your area free of clutter so guests can focus on what’s most important.

  • Enlist a friend to record some clips, so you can capture some footage of yourself.

Other key considerations

  • Participant permission: Before you upload your clips, make sure you have permission from people in your video so that they know it will be publicly shown.
  • Voice-overs or background music: Record only the sounds guests would typically hear during your Experience—don’t add voice-overs or music to your clips.

  • Logos or other copyrighted images: Please avoid showing any branded items, like shirts or hats with logos.

  • Alcohol: Please don’t film guests consuming alcohol. If your Experience involves drinking (such as a bar crawl or wine tasting), you can show shots of drinks being poured or shared around a table.

  • Illicit behavior: Video clips may not depict dangerous or sexually explicit scenes (including nudity), drug use of any kind, or other prohibited activities.

  • Children: If guests younger than 18 years old are featured, make sure they’re accompanied by an adult.

  • Content policy: Avoid featuring any content that violates our content policy or copyright policy.

  • Regional exemptions: Hosts offering in-person Experiences in mainland China do not have access to this feature.

How to upload your clips

  • Pick five to 10 of your favorite clips, and upload them using the Video tab in Your Experiences. Please send only your original, unedited video clips; editors can’t use videos that have been altered with filters or effects.

  • Editors will assemble your clips into a video trailer.

  • It takes about a week or two for editors to create your video trailer. When it’s ready, they’ll upload it directly onto your listing page.

If you have questions regarding your video trailer or would like to change it, please fill out this form and our team will contact you.
