A day of exploring Black Paris

We begin with a complimentary French breakfast in the neighborhood Saint-Germain-des-Prés at the café Les Deux Magots, where influential writers such as James Baldwin and Richard Wright spent much of their time. We'll explore many historical sites in and around the 5th and 6th arrondissements as we make our way over to the neighborhood of Pigalle. There we'll discover why the neighborhood at one point earned the nickname "Black Montmartre". But no Black Paris tour would be complete without visiting the historical neighborhood, Chateau Rouge aka Little Africa, with its many shops and businesses. You’ll receive an Unlimited Metro Pass that we’ll utilize to get to locations not within walking distance. The tour will then conclude with an amazing meal together at one of the best African restaurants in the city where we can share our favorite things about the day (Meal Not Included In Price).

Create a fascinator hat with a designer

This course will enable you to create your own headband or fascinator hat. We will meet in my cozy studio overlooking the Paris rooftops and you will learn how to make the base of a hat in sinamay or felt using a traditional hat block. I will then teach you different techniques of trimming and decorating, using veiling, flowers, feathers and much more. You will leave with a beautiful headpiece and the millinery skills to carry on creating more. The workshop will last around two hours. The drawing is on the silk, you choose beautiful colors on a large palette and decorate your scarf as you want. It's very very relaxing ! If you want to learn or to paint longer or on a large silk 90x90, you can come for 5 hours on a "Special technic workshop". Other things to note This workshop is adapted for you to create your own work during this experience. Your paint silk can be wear or framed before hanging it on the wall, you can also wash it.

We'll begin our visit with a thoroughly Parisian experience: sitting down together over a coffee. We'll get to know each other and I'll give you an overview of three key aspects of our visit--the history of the neighbourhood, an introduction to some of the fin de siècle poets and writers who inhabited the neighbourhood, and finally talk about the English-speaking writers who called Paris home. Feel free to come with questions! Next we'll set out to explore some of the most charming streets in Paris, stopping along the way to see where a number of writers lived: Descartes, Hemingway, Paul Verlaine, Thomas Paine, Jean-Paul Sartre...You'll be able to read a passage of their work at each site. We'll also see important monuments such as the Pantheon, the Sorbonne and the Church of Saint Germain des Près.

This photo session in Paris is offered to couples, for engagements, weddings, elopements, families, surprise proposals and individual pictures. We'll meet at this address : 17 place du trocadero et du 11 novembre. Then walk around to go to the perfect spots. In an hour we do several spots and we include the Eiffel Tower, the Seine River and a Parisian Street. We will guide you during the experience and help you with the poses to get natural lifestyle pictures. Also, bring a second pair of shoes (to be able to walk). After the experience, I will send you a link to a private gallery to choose your best pictures (30 MAX).
