Set at the end of a no through lane Courthouse Barn (attached to Courthouse Farm) is a self contained barn conversion in the quiet village of Muchelney. With views of the Church it is in easy walking distance of The Abbey, Church and The Almonry barn wedding venue. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking ,we also provide the essentials of tea ,coffee,milk and snacks. Due to covid we would now request 2 night minimum stay Check-in time 3pm and check-out 12pm we try to be flexible if needed.

The Cidery

The Cidery is set in a traditional working cider orchard. Enjoy beautiful surroundings with a mixture of free range farm animals. We have pigs, sheep, chicken, geese, guinea fowl and ducks. The orchard changes with the seasons with blossoms in May through to the harvest in October/November, when we start pressing the apples to turn into our cider and apple juice. Come and discover the spirits of the orchard in this charming part of Somerset.

This romantic place to stay offers a history all its own. It’s a converted barn (formerly an architects studio) which forms part of a scheduled ancient monument set in beautiful old orchards. The site has an unusual history - the monks from the adjacent Abbey used to give out alms in the 15th century from the Barn. Our village still contains part of the Abbey opposite us, as well as the Grade 1 listed Priests House and church.
