The American Eagle - Stunning Harbor Views w/ 2 bedroom (Inn on the Harbor)
Welcome to Inn on the Harbor - Stonington: The American Eagle is our largest room at Inn on the Harbor. A gorgeous apartment with two bedrooms: with two twin beds and a master bedroom room furnished with one queen, full bath, hairdryer, tv with cable, and free wifi. The fully furnished kitchen is equipped with the basics you'll need for any good dinner fresh from the harbor. This includes pots and pans along with plates and cutlery. Enjoy the dining room set for four or relax in the cozy sitting area with a large window facing the harbor and a seasonal wood-burning fireplace. Access to a private deck allows for early morning coffee and stunning harbor water views of Stonington's historic working waterfront. Here you can enjoy the views, the distant foghorns, the breezes coming off of the Atlantic, and the working lobster harbor right outside of your window. and an authentic (not too touristy) experience. You can park the car, hop on the mail boat and hike all day on Isle Au Haut, grab some Kayaks and tool around the harbor, go see a show at the Opera House, nosh on top-rated food at the Fin and Fern, explore the quaint shops and pier and crack a nice bottle of wine on the deck at the end of the day. The Inn On The Harbor is assembled from Stonington's history itself, with rooms from the former floating granite cutting quarters, and includes rooms converted from the galley, barbershop, and original town Post Office. The original hand-stamped tin walls of the barbershop still exist in the Stephen Taber!! Yes, you can stay here for Acadia! Yes, it's a little more of an arms-length from the craziness of Bar Harbor but we think it's the perfect home base for the REAL Acadia adventure and true 'Maine experience'. From Stonington, you can still reach Mount Desert Island and the major Acadia attractions. Top-rated Puffin tours also leave from Stonington or you can explore the trails of Crockett Cove Woods or roam the art gardens of Nervous Nellies after buying some local jam. Inn On The Harbor, Open Hearth Inn, and The Gust House are all locally owned and operated by Ohana Inns. Ohana means family and when you stay with us you'll see why we call everyone Ohana. If you have any questions about this listing or any of our other properties, inquire or call and we will make sure to find you the best spot for your vacation/adventure. Aloha! Ohana Inns
