Another walk from the front door takes you through the woods to Thomas Hardy’s cottage at Higher Bockhampton. The lake and gardens of Kingston Maurward are on the doorstep, and golf and fishing are available nearby. There is so much to do in this beautiful part of Dorset. Have a day out on the spectacular Jurassic Coast, enjoying magnificent clifftop views from the South Coast path and take in Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, or evocative Tyneham village. For family fun, hop on the Swanage Steam Line and visit Corfe Castle, or head to Monkey World, the Bovington Tank Museum or the Dinosaur museum in Dorchester. Just 7 miles away is Weymouth with its glorious sandy beaches, Georgian seafront, old harbour and traditional entertainment. There are French doors opening from this bedroom to a private patio area making a wonderful suntrap in the afternoons. The bunk bedroom is perfect for children (or adults!) and the cottage has a bathroom with shower over the bath. There is outdoor seating and a table for you to enjoy those warm days and evenings. The Jurassic coastline is a short drive with many stunning beaches to visit. A simple breakfast is available on request.
