Each city was built in different era, under different dynasty and by different rulers. The foundation stone of this amazing city was laid by George V, Emperor of India during the Delhi Durbar of 1911.The design of this city was done by British architects, Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker. It is purely a mixture of Old and new time which you will witness in this city, on roads and in monuments. The city's importance lies not just in its past glory as the seat of empires and magnificent monuments, but also in the rich and diverse cultures. Afternoon visit Qutab Minar 73 m-high tower of victory, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu kingdom. The tower has five distinct storeys, each marked by a projecting balcony and tapers from a 15 m diameter at the base to just 2.5 m at the top. The first three storeys are made of red sandstone; the fourth and fifth storeys are of marble and sandstone. Later drive pass the Lutyens Building. It is an area in Delhi, specifically New Delhi, India, named after the leading British architect Edwin Lutyens. Lutyens laid out the central administrative area of the city. At the heart of the city was the impressive Rashtrapati Bhawan, formerly known as Viceroy's House, located on the top of Raisina Hill and then India Gate which is a national monument of India. Situated in the heart of New Delhi, it was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. Witness Spiritual Musing with a Boatman
A series of steps leading down to water—are a common sight across India but a rare find in New Delhi! Take a boat ride with me to an ancient temple (in middle of the river) to meditate & discover India's affection with rivers & more. For thousands of years, people have used them to enter various bodies of water in order to bathe or release the ashes of loved ones. Yamuna Ghat is one such place. Situated near a cremation ground in a historic part of Delhi along one of India’s most sacred rivers, Yamuna Ghat continues to be in use today. At dawn, the ghat is the site of a majestic gathering of hundreds of seagulls flocking to feed. Here's what we will do in serene experience : 1. Reach the Ghat (River Shore) & watch a majestic holi ceremony where we will offer flowers to the river with a traditional prayer 2. Step into a pretty private wooden boat and sail with me alongside the holy river Yammuna & watch from a distance Delhi's biggest Hindu Cemetry, scenes of the Ghats as I unveil you several stories about the river & mythology around it 3. We take a halt in the middle of the river to hop on a tiny island which has an ancient temple. I will introduce you to a meditation technique here & we would practice it for about 10-15min 4. We come back to the shore & have a cup of tea & cookies locally sourced & made in the area. A lot of conversations by the river side follow
