What you'll do

Discover the history of the center with me! We are going to walk a lot around the Historic Centre of Mexico City. This is ideal for your first day in the city!

We will get to know the history of many of the most famous places such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes, some murals, and the cathedral, but we will also visit less touristy spots like old colonial houses and traditional candy stores, and get to know traditions that are still alive today. Plus, a perfect juice-stop and many, many fun facts.

During the tour, we will talk about the conquest, religion, Mexica traditions, migration, catholicism, prostitution, power, wars, poverty, popular religiosity, commerce, architecture, art, politics, and symbols that have made Mexico such a great and vibrant city.

Some other stuff:
* Let me know if you want to have the experience at a different hour or any special requests.
* Take into account this tour might be bilingual if you want to make sure it's only in your language please contact me before booking.
* We have adapted the tour to make it as safe as possible. The Historic Center can be crowded, but we'll mostly be in open spaces, and will be wearing facemasks.

History has always been my passion and that's what I studied and teach. As a native of the city, I love to make people come closer to its past. I created our tours to show people the connections between the history and the places we are visiting and looking at.

I like to explore my town and walk the city with local friends or visitors. I really enjoy walking, and what better way to do it than this?

Currently, I'm traveling, so my friend Martín is guiding most of the tours.

Martín is an archaeologist and an enthusiast of the history of the City (I call him an expert on the Great Temple of the Aztecs). He is also a circus man, which automatically makes him fun and caring. He has a genuine interest in meeting new people, showing them around his city, and telling them random facts you might not hear anywhere else. He's the best!

Where you'll be

Where we'll meet
Plaza Primo de Verdad
Ciudad de México
Basically, we'll walk through the streets of the historical center and some of its most famous buildings. We will visit the surroundings of the Alameda park, the streets of Madero, Moneda and Tacuba, the Zócalo, some places of Av. Pino Suárez, the Santo Domingo Plaza and Tolsa's Plaza.

There is sooo much to see in the city, so I always try to adapt the places we visit to what the group is the most interested in.

Really enjoyed this tour with Martin - he was a very good storyteller and packed so many details into everything he explained! Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to learn about history or get a good orientation to the historical center. The juice spot we went to was delicious as well!

Martin toured us and had such a cool archeologists’s touch to his storytelling. We learned about the stones, this sinking city, and everything under the buildings. The uneven sinking of these beautiful buildings was my favorite, creepy and fascinating. It was nice meeting some others in one of my first days in cdmx. I did feel tried towards the end of the 3hrs but am happy with the amount I felt like I saw.
