Málaga, Spain

Experience hosted by Isabel

  1. 2.5 hours
  2. Hosted in Spanish and English

What you'll do

This adventure has 2 of the most important ingredients to make your walk around Malaga an UNFORGETTABLE visit: the experience of a local 'malagueña'; and also a officially qualified tour guide.
The idea is not to talk about a huge amount of historical facts, nor to treat you as just another tourist. The purpose is to experience and feel the city as a REAL LOCAL, a real "malagueño".
The duration of this activity is 2,5 h. approximately which starts with a nice coffee or tea at one of the most iconic squares of the city: Plaza de la Merced.
Then, the walk will get started around the historical area in order to discover the most well-known places (as well as surprising, unknown ones) of the centre, while talking about history, curiosities, traditions... and some stories as well :) Where do locals go, what are our customs, where do we go and what do we eat?
Besides this, there will be some delicious local products for tasting during the visit.

I was born in Malaga and being a local tour guide is the best profession I could have. My work is my passion because all the tours I run are super personalised with very small groups.
As Confucius said: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life".

If you have not been to Málaga before, this is a great way to be introduced to the area. Isabel was a fabulous guide who felt like a friend within minutes of meeting her. She shared so many bits of knowledge, history, and the FOOD of Málaga. I highly recommend that you take a tour with the lovely (and humorous) Isabel!

Isabel is simply amazing, a very bright personality, very kind and helpful, amazing stories about not only Malaga but also about the whole region and all the other cities, she gives great insider suggestions for food, places to visit and anything else you can name. I LOVED the tour with her, if you go to Malaga for the first time, you have to book her tour.

Isabel was very knowledgeable not only about Málaga but many other areas in Spain. We learned many things associated with common sites in Málaga that we would not have ever learned had we not done the tour. Highly recommend!

You MUST do this experience if you come to Malaga. I’ve done many walking tours in Spain, but by far this was the best one. Isabel not only explained the city's history but immersed us into the culture as a truly malagueña. We learned about how locals live, their food, and customs. We also tried a lot of local delicacies, starting with pastries in the morning, followed by a visit to the market, and finished in the oldest winery in Malaga. In the end, she even shared a list of her favorite restaurants and places to visit, as some Spanish tips. I’ll recommend it to all my friends that come to town!

We've arrived in Malaga and did this tour on our first morning. This experience is a must-have tour if you are looking for knowing the history of Malaga and the local food. Isabel is an excellent and prepared host. She took us to experience the local food in traditional places and explain the history behind each food that we were experiencing. The tour was fluid and vivid. If you pass by Malaga, I recommend you do this experience.
