What you'll do

Cook with one of the best chefs ever: Our grandma, Nonna Nerina!

She and her sisters will show you how to prepare the perfect handmade pasta—no machines, just your hands, the freshest local ingredients, and love.

All of these women started to make pasta in their childhood, keeping alive a tradition that is slowly disappearing. And they are ready to pass it to you!

You’ll be part of our crazy big family for a day and join us as we walk the tiny medieval streets of Palombara Sabina to Grandma’s kitchen, located in the old winepress where my great-grandpa used to make wine that the community tapped straight from the barrel (or in Grandma's home... according to the weather). It's a special place for my family and the entire village.

We will cook Ravioli, Fettuccine and Farfalle... you will be in a food coma at the end of the experience!

Please Note: Nonna Nerina is 83 yo so she could feel tired. In that case there will be Grandma Angela, Auntie Giovanna and all the rest of the family to take care of you!!!

Whenever I sat in my grandma's kitchen growing up, she’d make pasta while sharing memories of her own mom and grandma. I soon realized my generation was missing something important: The handmade pasta techniques and traditions passed down through the ages.

I asked if I could post photos online, to which she replied, “Do what you want, I don’t understand you at all.” Today, she knows what an impact she’s making because people from all over the world come to our home to cook with her, making her very happy.

Everything you expect and more. The hospitality, the experience, and the pasta were great and by the time you left you felt like one of the family. And the small village in which the experience is located is beautiful and could actually be worth a night or two’s stay.

Pasta with grandma was an amazing experience and might have been the highlight of our two week trip in Italy. Everyone from the family was extremely welcoming and it felt more like a meeting of good friends than a class on making pasta. Would recommend to anyone visiting Rome!

Where do I begin? Nona and her assistants were wonderful.! We went to a beautiful, small village outside of Rome to our destination. It was like visiting my grandmother’s kitchen. A gigantic table sat in the center of the room and this is where we made our pastas. The instructions and demonstrations were excellent. I feel confident that I can go home and make a batch of pasta. We ate with Nonna and the other families. I felt like I was on an episode of Anthony Bourdain’s show. Don’t miss this wonderful experience. You can also have an Italian Nonna.

Please listen to the other reviews when they say BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE! We knew it was going to be the best part of our trip before even going and that’s exactly what it was. It’s not just any pasta making class. Find out why, enjoy! 🥂

WE LOVE NONNA! This experience was a highlight of our trip: Marina and the "Nonnas" made us feel like family from the first moment we met, and we came away full of pasta and memories that we'll be talking about for a long time. This is a must!

Get this experience now!!! Family of three on our last full day in Rome had a wonderful outing doing something different. The communication was great from the beginning. This trip included the train tickets back and forth from Rome Tiburtina Train Station to Piana Bella di Montelibretti Train Station. We also got picked up from there by Ms. Camilla, who told great stories as she took us up to the town and the castle of Palombara Sabina. Nonna Margherita was awesome showing us how to make farfalle/bowtie pasta, ravioli, and fettuccini. The ingredients were so simple but the end results were fantastic. Thank you for accommodating my daughter, who is allergic to nuts, by cooking up half of the bowtie pasta into carbonara. It was her favorite.
