Our tasty adventure starts in the heart of Chinatown with Dim Sum. Ready to take on the day, we check out the fortune cookie factory and take a peek inside! Next, we stroll down the street of the infamous 10-cent haircut and learn how sailors journeyed here in hopes of the American dream.
But wait, the adventure doesn’t stop there! Next, we’ll check out the oldest bakery in Chinatown, a church that survived the 1906 earthquake, the oldest temples in the USA, all while sipping some delicious bubble tea.
As we approach our final hour, we head to a local tea shop and learn about the role of tea in traditional Chinese medicine with a 30-minute tasting.
Feeling warm, we head to our last stop to learn about the Gold Rush, in the exact spot it all started! Here we taste a local pork roll from one of the oldest restaurants in town.
We cannot run on Mon/Tues.

I have always had a passion for cooking, trying new foods, and discovering new sites and tastes on a good food tour. That love inspired me to create my own food experience company called Stretchy Pants!

Things to note:
*This tour can be hosted by Kara (me) or one of my other well-trained co-hosts.
*Feel free to contact me with any questions or special requests.
*COVID may change our route, but we will always eat the same amount!

But that's not all... Stretchy Pants has other walks on Airbnb, so keep an eye out! Breakfast & The Painted Ladies Food Walk & North Beach Food Walk: Beer & Pizza.

Jacob was very knowledgeable about the locations, food and tea we tasted. He was also a great storyteller and very fun to joke around with!

This was a great way to experience Chinatown, and San Francisco itself. Jacob Was a great guide, we ate a lot of delicious dim sum and he had a lot of interesting information about the area and the food. The tour was a perfect mix of walking and sitting. Our group size was big enough to have variety and small enough not to feel too intrusive in the small venues. I’m so glad we did this, it was the best time spent on our 3 day trip to SF. Also we loved the tea tasting!

Jacob was an excellent tour guide, extremely generous with his time and very knowledgeable. The tea tasting was the cherry on top of a wonderful tour, Jacob and the owners of this shop had a really good rapport which created a very intimate and fun experience. Would highly recommend.

Robin was a great co-host for the Chinatown Dim Sum Tour! She selected great restaurants, shops and vendors for our experience. Robin clearly knows a lot about the history of Chinatown, which enhanced our experience and enriched our appreciation of San Francisco. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon - highly recommend!
