In and out of the port of New Orleans, Eric is a descendent of French pirates who sailed the high seas of the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Even in recent generations, both his maternal and paternal grandfathers worked in the port of New Orleans importing fruit from the Caribbean and Latin America. Being the first land lover in his family, he traded in the helm for handle bars.

A native of New Orleans, Eric posses a knowledge of the city that exceeds research, he is a product of its culture. From rolling in Mardi Gras parades in his youth, getting his first high school job as a beignet chef at Cafe du Monde, and being steeped in our city's customs his whole life. He not only lives in New Orleans - New Orleans lives in him. Eric's tours are well rounded and offer both the better and lesser known narratives of New Orleans history.

My daughter and I loved this incredible tour. Eric is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable host who is passionate about history, music, and all things New Orleans. He also seems to know everyone in the city! Eric packed the entire history of New Orleans into bite sized, tantalizing, morsels of story telling. I wish he could have been my teacher in High School history... I would have enjoyed it so much more with his way of weaving a tale and his fabulous laugh! I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Eric.

A fun tour on single-speed upright bikes! They are in good repair and are great for riding around the flat terrain of the city. We made a number of stops to learn about our surroundings. Eric was a great guide and we had a fun time!

This tour was GREAT! Eric was such an excellent storyteller and guide. He really knows New Orleans from the history to the culture and everything in between. Eric does a great job making sure everyone is safe and together while biking around the city. Perfect for an introduction to the city and getting to know outside of the French Quarter!

Last week explored New Orleans through an Airbnb Experience via a company called Flambeaux Bicycle Tours. The flambeaux are the torches used for night parades during Mardi Gras, and the bike tour guides have a mission to "shed light" on the history and heritage of the city. When I last visited, I just stuck around the French Quarter and never got to see anything else. And as beautiful as that part of the city is, it's also wild, grimy, and touristy. In contrast, it was a treat to bike through residential parts of the city, while learning more about how it's is able to thrive on swampland, the melting pot of cultures that make up the city's unique culture, and the origins of jazz. I highly recommend this Creole Odyssey tour.
