Sintra Jeep Safari <> Lisbon Pick Up

Lisboa, Portugal

Experience hosted by Francisco

What you'll do

Want to “squeeze all the juice” out of Sintra? Climb aboard one of our vintage Portuguese 4x4s and in just one day you’ll explore the mysterious Quinta da Regaleira, eat a traditional Portuguese lunch (with wine, of course), cruise off-road through Sintra’s lush forests, and emerge at the seaside cliffs of mainland Europe’s westernmost point, Cabo da Roca. This is our most popular journey for a good reason!

Our restored ex-military 4WDs look cool as hell, sure, but they’re also the best way to tackle the terrain west of Lisbon, passing from hilltop castles to the sheer coastline. We take you to secret lookouts and hidden beaches no other tourists can reach, blasting music the whole time. In summer, we bounce along off-road tracks with the roof off. In the cooler months we splash through puddles of mud as we swerve through the forests.

We are all about the journey, not just the destinations. This is why we love to go off-road, snap Polaroid pictures at the coast, play epic tunes all day long and give you the chance to taste Sintra’s traditional sweet “travesseiro” pastry and homemade “ginja” liqueur.

We want you to finish your day feeling like you really know the place. Join us for an unforgettable day of adventure, laughs and local legends.

(this is a twin tour of "SINTRA JEEP SAFARI" but includes the pick up in Lisbon :)
Other things to note
Lunch and palace entry tickets are not included! Expect to pay just €15-20 for lunch, including wine! We can skip the queues though to buy cheap entrance tickets. Your driver generally hosts in English, but we also speak Portuguese, Spanish and French.

Olá, we’re FlaminGO Experiences! As little kids exploring their wild streaks we left no stone unturned in our magical hometown Sintra. Our mums complained when we came home dirty, tired and covered in cuts and bruises, but the mountains and coast were – and still are – our playground. Now we know almost every hidden secret and we’ve turned our passion for adventure, storytelling and vintage jeeps into our jobs. Between castles and the coastline we like to go beyond ordinary – driving off-road, eating local sweets, and snapping Polaroids at the beach. If you’re ready for one of the coolest days of your life (2000+ 5-star reviews back that up) – let’s GO! We’ll explore wild coastline, secret forest tracks and century-old roads just 30 minutes from downtown Lisbon. This is the “Best of Sintra” so expect highlights of the UNESCO World Heritage town, including Quinta da Regaleira. After lunch we’ll cruise Sintra-Cascais Natural Park to our secret coastal viewpoint and the famous Cabo da Roca. As the sun sets, kick back at wild Guincho Beach. We finish in the fishing village of Cascais.

So it's a business run by 5 local guys from Sintra - local experience we will remember forever. Our host was Diogo and we couldn't have hoped for a better experience - he was patient, helpful, showed us around and took us off road. The lunch place was also amazing filled with local guests and the itinerary was filled with great views (and delicious pastry). 1000% recommend! Thank you Diogo!!! ❤️

I would definitely recommend the jeep safari to anyone visiting the area. It was the perfect way to explore a lot of the Sintra region in a day, and Diogo our guide couldn’t have been better. The various stops along the way were all amazing, but the journey in the jeep I’m between was just as much fun. Lunch was also one of the best meals we’ve had in Portugal and was great value for money. Anyone going on the tour should make sure that they have about €30 each in cash on them to pay for entrance to the palace and for the set menu at lunch. Both take card but cash was easier/preferred.

An MUST-do on your list when visiting Lisbon! It was the perfect off-the-beaten path tour with a wonderful host that showed us unique spots & a true VIO experience. I will definitely do more Flamingo Experiences!

Exactly as advertised. A great day out from Lisbon and a taste of the magical Sintra with minimal fuss. Our host Mario was knowledgeable and perfectly organised, with every stage of the experience running smoothly. We were rugged up and able to enjoy the tour with the top down on the Jeep. We recommend bringing a hat and layers so you can get the best out of the cool vehicle and view. If you are cold they can close the vehicle, but you will not see as much.

I wish I could give this experience more than 5 stars! Mario was the perfect host to help us explore Sintra and the surrounding areas. He gave us some interesting facts and history while also stepping away occasionally to let us explore on our own. The stops for baked goods and lunch were a delicious introduction to Portuguese cuisine. We loved our appetizer of baked cheese and pumpkin marmalade, so Mario went and asked the kitchen staff for details and informed us where we could buy the ingredients to recreate the recipe ourselves. What a personal touch! Riding around in the Jeep with the top down gave us a great view of the area even in between stops and we were able hit lesser know places without so many other tourists. He took great pictures for us that we now have as special memories of our best day in Portugal. By the end of the day, Mario felt more like a friend than a tour guide. Don’t wait, book this experience now!
