What you'll do

When you come we will start at a beautiful home-museum from the 18 century where I will tell you why this Hacienda has been so important in this community for the past 170 years. Then I will take you in to the nature through the coffee plantation and explain what makes Colombian Coffee so special where you will plant your own coffee tree. I will show you from scratch how to do it and as well how to harvest. Experience birdwatching while we walk an amazing staircase built in the wild called ¨El Camino de la Vida¨. After we seen all about coffee in the plantation we will get back to the Hacienda and enjoy a delicious homemade meal surrounded by family and friends. The cherry on the cake: taste the most popular drink in the world 100% Colombian Special Coffee! We will show you how to apreciate the aroma, acidity, body and many elements when it comes to tasting great coffee.

My family has been living in this Coffee Hacienda for over 7 generations. We have planted coffee for over 100 years. I will tell you all about coffee and why Colombian coffee is world famous. Me and my husband Esteban Monzon are so proud of our coffee heritage that we want to show it to the world. We grew up sorrounded by coffee and we would love to tell you all the stories of our ancestors that lived in this Coffee Hacienda and how the process of coffee has changed over the years but still keeps the same quality principal. Travel back in time and learn all things coffee.

Highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Medellín. Very well organized and friendly. The plantation is only a short ride from the city but you feel completely removed. Wonderful location and very informative and educational.

Out of all the Airbnb experiences I did in Colombia, this one may be my favorite. Got to truly learn the history of coffee and gain some hands-on experience with the coffee making process. Valentina was a FANTASTIC host. Engaging, funny, informative, personable, perfect English...you name it. The tour was extremely well organized and had everything (good lunch, delicious coffee tasting, farming for coffee beans, getting to wear coffee farmers clothes, beautiful views, adorable animals, etc.) For coffee lovers, this is a no brainer. Even for non-coffee folks, this is still an amazing experience. Highly, highly recommended.
