What you'll do

Meet the animals at La Candelaria Ranch in Petaluma! I'd like to share them with people interested in learning about them, interacting with them and showing them love.

The 1-hour interactive tour begins with visiting the goats, horses, cows, llamas, and chickens. We'll be walking. You'll also get to meet Jack the mini donkey. I will show you around for 1 hour then you are free to explore for another hour or longer if you'd like. Wear mud boots during the winter.

Kids and "adult kids" are welcome. Walking around the ranch, you can connect with a tiny jersey calf named Tati, newborn goats, baby chicks, a mini donkey, and Scottish highland calves. You can see and photograph full size horses, cows, llamas, alpacas, peacocks, and emus.

This experience is a great outdoor venue for family get-togethers, kids birthday parties, adult celebrations, off-sites, anniversaries or just to get out of the city for the day. Because we are outdoors and there is a lot of space, we believe this is the perfect venue for all with respect to our ever-changing COVID concerns.

Bring a picnic or snacks if you want to stay and hang out.

My animals love the ranch that I've built over the past 6 1/2 years in wine country. I can tell because they exude joy and want to play constantly. I've collected and bred an assortment of animals, which my friends call "the zoo" . I love sharing my animals with others who appreciate the experience. Having been mostly a city-gal for years, I've learned to so much about caring for these sweet creatures.

Wonderful experience. Beautiful location. Jani brought us up close to the animals all of which were very gentle because she had raised them herself. My daughter was over the moon.

Amazing experience!! The animals are so fun and you get to experience their personalities with lots of hugs and pets! We especially loves Pierre. Jani couldn’t have been a better host. The farm has the most incredible views. Such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience. Our kids and us had an amazing time. Location is beautiful and we got up close with the animals (who are all very approachable). Afterwards we had a nice little picnic under the pergola. All in all a wonderful experience.

Jani is easy going, friendly, and loves her animals. Such a unique experience since never would I have imagined my kid being able to hug a Scottish Highland cow!… so fun!! Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely time traipsing through the pastures and meeting all the animals. Our little one was fascinated with them, especially the goats. The space for a picnic afterward was perfect for the lunch we brought with us.
