What you'll do

Kayak adventure to sacred waterfall and back to locals beach

This is not your touristy type kayak journey. We will explore a sacred river that many visitors have never traveled.

Journey starts from riverside Anahata Wellness Retreat, a place reserved for family and friends. You are now a friend.

Choose your watercraft and your guide will help teach you the proper ways to safely navigate the river.

Once on river, you will be able to go at your own pace as this journey is semi-guided. Kauma or Duke will share with you the highlights of the river journey. The past floods. The past tsunamis. The flora and fauna. We'll be hiking too! Hiking on slippery river rocks up a jungle river reminiscent of Jurassic Park. No dinosaurs though! Waterfall is sacred and magical. Feel the energy of Mama Kauai as she blesses us with her beauty.

Then, kayak down to local’s beach. Learn to stand up paddle if you like. Play in the river or the ocean. Back up to Anahata Wellness Retreat .

You'll leave feeling a part of Kauai. A special private adventure few travelers will ever witness.

This is not a beginner’s journey. A certain level of fitness and good knees suggested. Minimum age 18.

Many tourists like the touristy sights with a bus, groups of people, and easy to get to sights by vehicles. That's not what we do. We are a father/son team who know the ins and outs of the real Kauai. Kauma has competed in over 100 triathlons, as well as 300+ running and adventure races. Certified personal trainer, level 3 reiki master, licensed Jade Lotus Tantra and more. Son Duke is surfer, skier, and loves to teach. 7+ years local to Kauai, Kauma has found the hidden jewels and both Kauma and Duke are ready to share with you! The parts the tourists don't get to see. The places that take a little bit of effort to get to. The best spots, the local spots, the secret spots. In addition, we offer the ability to really feel the energy of Mama Kauai through spiritual adventures.

One of the best experiences I've had in Kauai. Got lucky with a chill crew to talk stories and share this adventure with. Grateful for the opportunity to experience this one of a kind adventure with our fearless leader Duke. I would recommend slip resistant strapped sandals, a fancy sand-resistant, quick-drying beach towel (worth the $) and dry bag. Be respectful to the land and people. Try not to act like a tourist 😉

This was our favorite experience we did on the island. Duke was a great tour guide, paddle boarding on the river was super peaceful and the waterfall was beautiful. We lucked out with good weather too!

Can’t recommend this enough! Such a great experience. We paddle boarded through a beautiful, peaceful river and then walked through the shallow part of the river to an incredible waterfall! Super breathtaking, especially when you jump into the cold water…so worth it! Our guide, Duke, was great - very nice, patient, and down to earth. Would def do this again! Bring shoes with grip! The rocks in the water are slippery.
