This tour is amazing, but be cautious. You need to make sure you are physically fit in order to do this experience. Regardless, even though I haven’t been hiking in quite a while. The hosts made sure I was safe at all times and regularly checked in with me. They are wonderful hosts and I would certainly recommend, I believe this is the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever been on. The views were amazing

The hike was beautiful. We really enjoyed it. I felt I had reached my limit Before the summit and I was very supported in my decision. One guide stayed back with my friend and I and the rest of the group continued.

As someone with some mountaineering experience in the United States, I thought this was the perfect climb on a beautiful mountain. However, I found the description of the trip to lack important information about what the climb entails. Below I aim to provide a little more insight as to who should join in on this climb. The route takes you up the east ridge which follows the ridgeline to the summit. It starts out with an easy approach and eventually turns into class 3 maybe even class 4 climbing on the Yosemite Decimal System (you can google this scale). There is certainly some high exposure on the route, but it can easily be avoided in my opinion. For this section, I would caution people that are out of shape and are afraid of heights. You also must be comfortable using your hands for overcoming rocks. The elevation is high. Even if you are in good fitness, expect at least a headache and some dizziness unless you have been at elevation for a while. The descent was on the northeast slope (check out summitpost.org to learn more about these routes). The descent is straight down the mountain at up to 45° on fairly slick scree. For this section, make sure you do not have joint issues, have a fairly good balance, and have proper hiking boots. It looks easy, but you must have sure footing and even then you might end up on your bottom a couple of times. Overall, I would highly recommend this trip for those looking for an introduction to climbing at high altitudes, but that also has some prior experience in the mountains. It is a great stepping stone to some of the even bigger mountains in Mexico. I would caution people that do not have experience in the mountains. Although not very technical as far as mountaineering goes, it still is more of a mountaineering experience rather than a simple hike.

What a hike! I can confirm that this was the most physically demanding thing I have ever done in my life! You see the pics and you read the reviews and mentally prepare yourself and it is even more intense then you could imagine and soooooo worth it! Perfectly scheduled day, they sure have it dialed down! Bathroom breaks at the right time on the road, all the equipment and food/drinks you need (maybe bring extra water)… eat breakfast even if it’s not your thing and definitely snack and drink constantly while on the tour. Your guides are often eating… if they eat, you eat. Hahahaha. There is some definite “creating and overcoming your own mental adversities” on this tour and I almost wanted to quit a dozen times but so happy I didn’t. It’s no joke! The dinner stop on the way home was also fabulous…. Handmade blue corn tortilla… sign me up any day! You may get scared, you may want to quit, but don’t give up and go for it. Zero regrets.

What an amazing hike we had with the team of Carlos and Daniella. I did many hikes in my life but this one was epic. Be prepared because it’s not an easy hike if you go until the top. We did it until the top and it’s around 5h30 hours hike back and forth. The team supported us during each step. Everything was amazing
