What you'll do

We meet on the iconic Royal Mile by the eminent Scottish thinker and drinker Adam Smith. It is then a short walk to one excellent whisky bar that we use. We have the entire upstairs area reserved for us, ensuring lots of space for the group. During the course of two hours we will sample four outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland. We will discus some of the history of Scotland and explore the reasons as to why whisky is now so ingrained as a staple of Scottish culture and we have some great tales from Scotland and the world of whisky to share with you.
Other things to note
This tour departs promptly and we can not wait for guests who are late. You must meet us at our start point at least 15min before the tour departs to secure your space.

People under the age of 18 are not permitted on this tour. This is due to licencing at the venue we use.

Whisky is the spirit of Scotland. Whisky is about the coming together of people, whether it be sharing a warming dram on a long winters night or celebrating with a wee dram at a wedding. Both Luca and I work as guides in Edinburgh and set up Little Fish Tours back in 2016. We are all about bringing people together and showing them not just the best sites of Edinburgh but also sharing a little in the culture of Scotland. What better way to immerse yourself in Scottish culture than to sit down with a local and share a whisky or four whilst listening to some great Scottish tales?

Where you'll be

Where we'll meet
Caffè Nero on the Royal Mile
Edinburgh
Our regular venue is the enchanting Waverley Bar, something of an institution in Edinburgh and is famous within the folk music scene. The entire upper floor of the bar is reserved for us, giving us plenty of space and privacy for our story orientated evening. This is our usual space but particularly during peak seasons we have several back up venues. Regardless of the venue the most important part of this tour is sharing good whisky and stories.

Would definitely recommend this tour, it’s great value as you get 4 whisky’s, 2 hrs is just the right amount of time and Ali keeps you entertained the whole way through. We didn’t expect to enjoy the experience so much but we did! Thanks guys :)

We had a fantastic evening with Alastair. It ended up being just us (two of us) on the tour. Alastair was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and made us feel very welcome.

Alistair was our tour guide and did an incredible job of talking us through the whiskeys and making the tour interesting and informative for those of us not drinking. I learned a huge amount and it was a fantastic atmosphere. I would recommend this your to anyone.

Alistair was absolutely brilliant. He not only bought to life the history of Whiskey but made the history of Scotland sound like the history of the world. Absolutely entertaining evening. Loved Alastair’s narration and think we might attend tomorrow. Best tour to date!

Had an incredible time with our guide Alistair - can highly recommend this tour! I wasn’t a huge whiskey drinker but the knowledge and stories were so so interesting that it gave me a whole new appreciation for the beverage! Really friendly atmosphere and a truly awesome night all round! Five stars from me!
