What you'll do

(Vegetarian option) In a cozy and traditional place, we will taste 7 types of moles and seven different Mezcales. Get a framework for how to think about mezcal, in a way that regular tastings and visits to local mezcal bars do not offer. Try seven handcrafted moles of Oaxaca, all in a single experience. The tasting contains all the educational values of a Sommelier wine tasting, as well as the space to ask all you want. The Mezcales that you will try are carefully selected as they differentiate the characteristics of the different Agaves: Espadin, Cuishe, Madre Cuishe, Tobala, Tepeztate, Arroqueño, and a blend. It is an educational and pleasant-tasting paired with a different mole for each mezcal.
Ask and discuss your impressions, share and meet people that want to enjoy the Mezcal experience at a different level.

Certified Sommelier Daniel Rodriguez Gonzalez is a
filmmaker, seasoned traveller, historian, and enthusiast of life. His passion for wine began as a child while listening to his grandfather tell stories of making wine in Spain; from his first sip at age 12, he knew wine had many stories to tell. After studying film at in Mexico City, he began to travel the world, documenting stories as diverse as shamanic practices in México or walking 500 miles crossing Spain doing the Way of Saint James.
Working at a wine bar in Madrid, and later as Tasting Room Manager at Texas’ Spicewood Vineyards, he discovered he liked teaching others about wine as much as he enjoyed drinking it. Nothing makes him happier today than finding that Mezcal is as diverse and exciting as the world of wine.

Amazing experience! Daniel is an experienced and knowledgable sommelier, which clearly shows in the way the entire pairing has been put together. Communication was on point already before the event, ensuring that participants knew how to get to his beautiful tasting room. The supporting materials, as well as the pairing are well structured. This is a great way to get an overview of the different types of mezcals and moles, in order to find out what you like and further immerse yourself into the beautiful world of flavours.

Our experience was incredible. Daniel and his team have put together a rich learning adventure in a short amount of time and every step of the way is tender and thoughtful. We greatly enjoyed sipping mezcal and mole while the roosters and chickens sang with a view of the mountains. And yet it was also close enough to town that we could make it to our dinner in the city center. Thank you so much! Highly recommend.
