Yet it is surrounded by the beautiful Nature Reserve of Madonie Mountain with lots of trekking path and great naturalistic areas to be discovered. The closest village is Pollina, a really cute medieval little town with gorgeous views of the valley, at about 1.5 miles where you'll find the basic service.
