Later his grandson, Bert Wooldridge, renovated the home and it remained within the family for 114 years. The house was purchased in 2021 to be shared with the public as The CW House, a bed and breakfast, featuring 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths. It reminds one of the historic days of Claude while blending the newly renovated amenities of today.

Goodnight’s Retreat in Goodnight, Texas

Stay in a 100 year old ranch house built for Charles Goodnight on the original ranch. Recently updated, but filled with the history and stories of Charles and Molly Goodnight and their dream to save the bison of the Texas Panhandle. This house was his retreat where he could escape the people and activities at the Big House (the historic site). It was where he came for views of the canyons and solitude. It has served as the family home for the owners since 1934.
